Awana

Awana is for children ages two years old and up,  and their families:

  • Puggles Club for two and young three-year-olds
  • Cubbies Club for three and four year-old preschoolers
  • Sparks Club for kindergarteners, first and second graders
  • Truth and Training Club (T&T) for third, fourth & fifth graders (optional for sixth grade)
  • Student Leaders for high school students, by application and interview

Awana helps kids, youth and families come to know, love and serve Jesus Christ through Scripture memory, Bible study, service, games, friends, fun and mentoring relationships with adult and teen leaders.  Awana helps children, youth and their families to become "Modern-Day Josephs" by

  • Teaching them RESPECT for God and His Word
  • Increasing their Bible knowledge, WISDOM and understanding
  • Encouraging GRACE in their relationships
  • Giving them a sense of DESTINY and purpose
  • Guiding them to see things from God's PERSPECTIVE

Awana meets most Wednesdays during the school year from 6:00 til 7:45pm.

Kids should wear their uniform vest or shirt, comfortable pants or shorts and athletic shoes.  For their safety, children must wear athletic shoes to be able to participate in game time.  Kids should also bring a Bible and a jacket for outdoor games in cool weather.  Visitors are always welcome!

Adults are needed to serve as Awana leaders.  Leaders work with children one-on-one and in small groups during handbook time, play with them during game time, and learn with them during the large group Bible lesson.  Training is provided, and most positions require little time outside of the weekly club meeting.

Parent involvement is a vital part of the Awana ministry.  We strongly encourage parents to follow God's direction in Deuteronomy 6:5-7 by helping children practice memory verses and complete handbook activities at home.  Parents who aren't serving as weekly Awana leaders are invited and will be scheduled to participate in the club meeting with their children once every 4-6 weeks as a Parent Partner.
